Exhibit Opening April 8, 2026 / 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Show will run through April 11th Come in to support this most worthy humanitarian cause as BACA hosts a special art show and sale to raise funds for the care and treatment of wounded Ukrainian soldiers receiving care at Zhytomyr Military Hospital. The exhibition will feature original artwork created by service members as part of a pioneering art therapy program that aids recovery from severe physical injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and traumatic brain injuries. Proceeds from the exhibition will support the art therapy program at Zhytomyr Military Hospital and fund critically needed medications and medical equipment. The program is led by Yuliya Tolmachova, director of the Veterans Home in Zhytomyr and mother of an active-duty Ukrainian soldier. Since 2014, Tolmachova has worked directly with wounded troops in hospitals and combat zones, using art as a powerful tool for emotional healing and rehabilitation. She is the only Ukrainian woman to have received all three classes of the Order of Princess Olga, one of the nation’s highest civilian honors. The event is presented by NHCT UAHA Fund, a New Haven–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine and hosted by the Branford Arts and Cultural Alliance (BACA). Community members, collectors, and supporters are invited to attend, view the exhibition, and contribute to this vital humanitarian effort. Donations of any amount are welcome.
