Wickham Park Community Center 2815 Leisure Way, Melbourne FL 32935 Instructor – Witha Lacuesta Witha will discuss three of her approaches in creating her abstract art she has used in a series of paintings inspired by music and dancing. She will also demonstrate one of these approaches and lead us through the process of creating our own. There is not an image or line drawing provided for this workshop as each artist’s painting will be unique and individually created. CLICK HERE FOR ARTIST STATEMENT Supplies participants should bring to this workshop several sheets of transparent paper transfer paper pencil black marker opaque watercolors various spray bottles (to create various patterns and these may be shared) usual watercolor paraphernalia including opaque colors “Abstraction is the process of simplifying complex reality by focusing on essential qualities, removing irrelevant details, and creating general concepts or models, it’s about seeing the: idea” of something (like a ball) rather than a specific one (a leather soccer ball).
