About this event

On Daisy

One of 5 upcoming events at Brooklyn Artery, and 5,131 across New York City.

From Brooklyn Artery

A Language of Blue is a hands-on cyanotype workshop exploring how sunlight, objects, and photographs can become a visual language. Participants will learn the fundamentals of this historic photographic process while experimenting with photograms, botanicals, textiles, found objects, and photographic imagery to create their own distinctive blue prints. Designed for artists, makers, and curious beginners, the workshop encourages experimentation with composition, layering, texture, and exposure while thinking about the stories objects and images can hold. No previous experience is necessary, and participants will leave with a collection of original cyanotype prints and the foundational knowledge to continue exploring the process on their own. Led by the textile artist Jennica Drice. Participation is $40, all materials included. Sign up HERE!
