You’re invited! Spend the day with your family and connect with colleagues at the beautiful Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Enjoy something for everyone: inspiring art installations, hands-on children’s activities, and guided tours of BBG’s renowned gardens. Registration Instructions Preregistration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ups are welcome with a corporate ID. Those who preregister will receive a previsit email with a digital itinerary. Capital One employees receive complimentary admission for themselves and up to five adult guests. Children under 12 are admitted free of charge. Employees will be asked to present their corporate ID alongside their tickets. Employees without IDs may bring pay stubs or business cards with a photo ID (driver’s license, etc.) as proof of employment. Reserve Tickets Capital One Family Day Activities 10 a.m. Visitor Center Arrive and Check In Arrive at the 990 Washington Avenue entrance; visit the dedicated Capital One ticket window to scan your admission tickets and receive an itinerary. 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Discovery Garden Family Activities in the Discovery Garden Learn and play together in the Discovery Garden! Families are invited to explore nature at interactive stations led by BBG’s volunteer educators. 11 a.m.–5 p.m. BBG Library Library Open Hours Browse BBG’s extensive collection of books on botany and horticulture, and enjoy family activities. 1 p.m. Meet on Magnolia Plaza by building steps. Seasonal Highlights Tour Discover BBG’s plants and gardens in peak bloom and other highlights of the season in this free walk led by trained Garden Guides. 3 p.m. Meet on Magnolia Plaza by building steps. Treasured Trees Tour Visit some of the most treasured trees in BBG’s diverse collection to celebrate City of Forest Day. Anytime Activities 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Various Locations Block by Block In celebration of the 30th anniversary of BBG’s Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest, Block by Block honors the neighbors who turn stoops and sidewalks into beautiful green spaces. Streetscapes: Explore re-created stoops designed in collaboration with recent Greenest Block contest winners. Brooklyn’s Greening Heroes: Enjoy portraits and first-person stories from residents who have turned gardening into community building. 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Various locations Ancestral Ecologies The four multisensory installations of Ancestral Ecologies, created by Brooklyn-based artist Olalekan Jeyifous and the environmental art and architecture practice AD-WO, consider how African diasporic and Latinx worldviews can inform contemporary ecological knowledge and stewardship. 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Various locations Scavenger Hunt Stroll through the Garden and find seasonal blooms and BBG landmarks.
