Rare Earth

Celebrating 55 years of the iconic hit “I Just Want To Celebrate,” Motown’s token rock band Rare Earth will make a stop at the Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Ind., on Saturday, January 23, 2027. Hailing from Detroit, Rare Earth were a band inspired by the Motor City's twin legacies in hard rock and soul. Their biggest hits saw them covering classic songs of the past, while their sound found a middle ground between full-bodied rhythm & blues and tough bar band rock & roll. The band began in 1960 as the Sunliners and played in and around Detroit. In 1968 the group changed its name to one more reflective of the psychedelic age. Their tight musicianship found room for them to transform their songs through extended jams, with their biggest hit, "Get Ready," often clocking in at 30 minutes in concert. Other hits included Temptations cover “(I Know) I’m Losing You,” original hit single, “Born to Wander,” and iconic signature song, “I Just Want To Celebrate.”
