Benny Isaac Jacobs-Schwartz Wednesday, Mar 18th Social: 6:45 pm Program: 7:00 pm Benny Isaac Jacobs-Schwartz is the owner and lead guide of BIRDS by BIJS ( Pronounced “Bee-Jus”), a bird guiding business. With a background in biology, ecology, and outdoor education, benny has spent over 15 years working as a naturalist guide, expedition leader, and international bird guide across the Americas. Benny’s focus is connecting people with birds through multiple modalities. He is a wildlife photographer and educator who shares engaging and educational content. His goal is to inspire curiosity and encourage people to step outside, slow down, and experience nature firsthand. This presentation delves into topics of migration, tropical speciation, and biodiversity, highlighting some of the fascination birds of the New World tropics. The focus is on the Pacific flyaway and explores its role in supporting millions of migrating birds each year, including waterfowl and iconic species such as Snow Geese. The audience will leave with the appreciation of tropical ecology and migration as well as a familiarity of where backyard birds spend their winters- and why these connections matter.
