The Buffalo Bill Center of the West partners with ZooMontana to celebrate Slow Art Day in 2026. What is Slow Art Day? According to slowartday.com, Slow Art Day focuses on “slow looking and its transformative power”. Museums around the world participate by pre-selecting artworks worthy of 5-10 minutes of intentional observation and inviting their visitors to slow down. Why are we partnering with ZooMontana? When we think slow, we think sloths! Winston the sloth lives in Billings, Montana, less than 100 miles away from the Center. An honorary Cody local, Winston has been capturing the hearts of ZooMontana guests since 2020. The gracious staff of ZooMontana are installing six representative images from the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s collections in Winston’s enclosure and recording his response to each one.
