Join us for a Lecture & Demonstration: Saturday, November 7th! Join Paul Borden, Wales Hollow Wood Butcher, at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village in an engaging session where we will explore working green wood. In 1978, John Alexander published Make a Chair From a Tree: An Introduction to Working Green Wood. This introduction, along with the book Lost Country Life by Dorothy Hartley, piqued 40+ years of Paul's interest and research into making everyday items. Paul's work is done exclusively by hand using only sharp tools. No machinery and no electric tools are used. Everything is done using heritage methods. Join Paul Borden for an exciting lecture and demonstration, as he introduces you to the methods used for centuries to make things you need. Lecture & Demonstration: Green Wood Working Saturday, November 7th 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm FREE ADMISSION INCLUDES: • Green Wood Working: Lecture and Demonstration PLEASE NOTE: • Pre-registration is recommended, as space is limited. ABOUT PAUL BORDEN: Paul Borden has worked with green wood since 1979, accumulating decades of experience with this craft. Following retirement from a 35 year career in residential remodeling, Paul began volunteering and teaching in the woodshop at the Foundry on the east side of Buffalo. Paul specializes in traditional methods and tools. For the safety of our guests and resident farm animals, dogs and other pets are not permitted. Service animals are welcome. Refund Policy: No refunds will be made for those unable to attend the events/programs purchased. Please double-check the date and time before purchasing.
