The BPO and BUCC honor the legendary Gospel Hall of Fame composer, pianist, and choir leader with a heartfelt selection from his many contributions to worship anthems and beyond. Smallwood bridged traditional church music, classical orchestral training, and contemporary R&B, recording with artists including Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men, and Destiny’s Child. His modern-day hymn, Total Praise crossed denominations, races, and cultures throughout the Christian world.\n
