Ceramics: Intro to Wheel Throwing

Deadline to Register: July 4th at 5:00pm Title: Ceramics: “Introduction to Wheel Throwing” Description:  This beginner wheel throwing workshop will cover the basics of shaping clay using an electric pottery wheel. Your instructor will guide you through the essential steps of creating a wheel thrown vessel. Each student will create one or two pieces to be fired and glazed. Students will return on Sunday, August 2nd to glaze their fired pieces. They will be fired one more time and ready for pick up the following week. Please keep in mind that throwing on the pottery wheel is a skill that can take many years to master. This is an opportunity to get your hands dirty and see what wheel throwing is all about. This is a great class for someone who had never tried a wheel or for students who have taken our “Test Drive” class and want to progress even more.
