This small-group class is designed for players who understand the basics and are ready to deepen their skills through focused strategy, scoring insight, and confident decision-making. With an intentionally limited class size, each session allows for personalized instruction and thoughtful discussion as you revisit key concepts, refine your Charleston and hand selection, explore the NMJL card in greater depth, and learn how to navigate common variations of the game. Guided play is included to reinforce what you learn, but the emphasis is on understanding why each choice matters, not just what to play. Whether you enjoy Mahjong socially or aspire to play at a higher level, Mahjong 102 offers a more personal, strategic path toward confidence at the table. All materials are provided for this lesson. Please note: This session is designed for players familiar with American Mahjong (the traditional four-player tile game). It is not the solo digital “matching” game often seen in app stores or on TikTok. Participants should be comfortable with the suits, the rules, the Charleston, and reading the NMJL card.
