Stephen Wolfe, J. Chase Davis, Dusty Thompson, Ryan Denton, and Rev. John Bennett have been very gracious to come and have an open dialogue at our May 5 meeting on the topic that continues to be pushed to the forefront of political as well as popular dialogue, mostly as a cudgel initially, now as a Christian political theory, per Wolfe in his 2022 tome, and others since. As Young Republicans in West Texas, and especially as followers of Christ, including non-Republicans, we want to make an effort to reconcile these seemingly disparate ideas. These courageous men, 4 out of the 5 being pastors and preachers (Wolfe excluded), have agreed to have this difficult discussion so that it may benefit those who listen, namely us. In Christian kindness and charity, our goal even in disagreement, once the event is over with and we part ways to return to our own communities and churches and possibly political parties - is that the world would know that we are Christ's disciples, by the way we love one another.
