Walking Tour: Hopper’s Houses Downtown

Friday, August 28, 2026 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Downtown Campus 27 Pleasant Street, Gloucester, MA, 01930 CAM Members $15, Non-Members $25. Registration Required Explore the area surrounding the Museum on this walk past select Gloucester houses made famous by American realist painter Edward Hopper (1882-1967). Hopper is known to have painted in Gloucester on five separate occasions in the first decades of the 20th century. His paintings from this period capture the local landscape and architecture in a loosely rendered, light–filled style and are considered by many to be some of his finest works. Stroll with a CAM Docent for about 1 1/2 hours as you walk Middle Street in downtown Gloucester. Please note that some sidewalks on the tour are rugged and uneven and not all fit the width of wheelchairs or walkers. Tours are light rain or shine.
