Songs, Stories, and Music with Mike Agranoff

Forget everything you think you know about folk music. Mike Agranoff is a musician, singer-songfinder, storyteller, instrumentalist, and humorist whose performances are anything but predictable. Drawing inspiration from everyone from Pete Seeger and Tom Lehrer to J.S. Bach and David Bromberg, Mike creates an evening that blends exceptional musicianship, compelling storytelling, sharp wit, and genuine heart. A master fingerstyle guitarist, Mike moves effortlessly from traditional fiddle tunes and contemporary Americana to gems from the American Songbook. He is also a virtuoso on the English concertina, using the instrument for everything from haunting song accompaniment to dazzling classical arrangements. Along the way, audiences may encounter a moving ballad, a lightning-fast Irish patter song, a dramatic narrative recitation, or a delightfully outrageous parody. More a "singer-songfinder" than a singer-songwriter, Mike has spent decades uncovering overlooked treasures from the folk tradition and beyond, breathing new life into them with his distinctive style and deep understanding of the craft. His repertoire is vast, his stage presence engaging, and his ability to make audiences laugh, think, and occasionally tear up is unmatched. If you've spent any time in the Northeast folk scene, you've probably seen Mike in the middle of the chorus, knowing every lyric and helping keep the tradition alive. Whether you're a lifelong folk fan or someone who thinks folk music is old-fashioned, Mike Agranoff will surprise, entertain, and leave you wondering what he'll do next. Expect the unexpected and an evening of exceptional music, stories, and laughter. Cultural Center of Cape Cod 307 Old Main Street, South Yarmouth, MA, USA
