THE IMPORTANCE OF SEAWEEDS presented by Ecologist and Author Gil Newton and The Barnstable Land Trust Saturday May 30 at 11:00 AM Osterville Village Library Seaweed is commonly found along the Cape’s beaches but is frequently overlooked and misunderstood. How is seaweed important to animal life? What are the names of the different kinds of seaweeds? Are seaweeds plants? Are there any species that are invasive and can cause environmental problems? Which ones are edible or used in different industries? These questions and others will be answered in a presentation by ecologist and author Gil Newton as he discusses “The Importance of Seaweeds” on Saturday May 30 at 11:00 AM in the Main Meeting Room at the Osterville Village Library. This program is brought to you as part of a partnership between the Barnstable Land Trust and the Osterville Village Library.
