Workshops Arts & Culture

Get ready to dive into the world of Eco-printing, where plants and patterns come to life! Join  local artist Katya Lebrija for an introductory workshop where we will learn about the different groups of plants and fabrics that you can use for this process.   She’ll show you examples of how you can create a catalog of the plants you use, and how each makes its unique mark on the fabric. eachI’ll show you how to whip up a “bundle,” which is the secret sauce for printing magic. I’ll whisk your bundles away to steam them in my kitchen, and participants can collect by the Carriage Barn to grab their prints later that day or the next. Let the Eco-printing escapade begin! All Plants, fabrics and materials will be provided. Participants will go home with a 27”x27” printed cotton fabric. Come join Katya Lebrija for an introductory course where we will learn about different groups of plants and fabrics that you  can use for Eco-printing. Katya will s them an example of how they can make a guide or catalog of the different plants they can use, and how each makes its unique mark on the fabric. I will show them how to make a “bundle”, which is how the fabric is actually printed. I will take their bundles home for me to steam in my kitchen, and they’ll be able to pick up their prints later that afternoon or the next day at the Carriage Barn. 2nd Workshop: May (date tbd) (8 to 10 people that want to continue learning about the process) There will be a follow up eco silk printing class on May 2nd for those who would like to continue learning about the process.
