Flora and Fauna Oil Painting Class with Jean Cook

Saturday, September 19, 10 AM – 4 PM. Artist Jean Cook spent her early years in the Burrton area where her parents were farmers. She spent many days in Newton at the 4H county fair and has fond memories of those experiences. Jean worked for Hallmark Cards in the KC area for 34 years and spent 21 years as a Artist Engraver doing bas relief sculptures for embossing and hot foil dies. While there she attended the Kansas City Art Institute and studied with many nationally recognized artists. Join Jean for an oil painting workshop focused on drawing with a brush to create a tonal drawing with Transparent Red Oxide, establishing lights and darks, adding warm and cool colors and color mixing. $125 per student includes all needed supplies.
