Live Music: Squid City Slingers

Squid City Slingers are a high-energy Minnesota trio blending bluegrass, folk, country, and gypsy jazz into a sound that’s equal parts foot-stomping and heartfelt. Featuring driving stand-up bass, fiery fiddle, and flat-picking guitar, the band has built a growing following across the Twin Cities and Twin Ports through a mix of rich harmonies, original songs, and carefully selected covers. The group has performed at venues and festivals across the Midwest including Bent Paddle, Earth Rider, Gunflint Tavern, Bluegrass on the Black Festival, SquidFest, and the Minnesota Musician Showcase at Mall of America. With appearances on regional radio, television, podcasts, and an expanding festival schedule, Squid City Slingers continue to establish themselves as one of the Midwest’s rising acoustic acts. Their EP, Harbors & Highways, showcases the band’s Northwoods-inspired songwriting and energetic live sound.
