FREE Homeschool Day: The “Science of Oysters”

Program Details: Did you miss our last “Science of Oysters” homeschool day in July? Not a problem! Texas Surf Conservancy is back in October to offer their FREE program again! Oysters are more than just food or water filters. They are keystone species. Oyster reefs support life in our bays, providing shelter, spawning grounds, and protection. By learning how oysters create community underwater, students are introduced to key ecological concepts of interdependence, biodiversity, and habitat restoration. Join us at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History for Homeschool Day: The “Science of Oysters” brought to you by Texas Surf Conservancy. Date: Friday, Oct 16, 2026 Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Location: Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History Although this Homeschool Day session is presented free of charge thanks to our partners at the Texas Surf Conservancy, pre-registration is REQUIRED. Notices for Parents: Please be advised that students may handle or be near shellfish during the program. During our two-hour Home School Program, space is limited to students enrolled in Grades 1st-6th.
