@ Join us for a very special evening collaboration with SFI in partnership with CCA in a presentation of Opus Cope: An Algorithmic Opera. We will have a screening of the film, and a follow up Q&A panel for discussion. Widely regarded as a pioneer of artificial creativity, algorithmic composer David Cope imagines creativity through human and machine perspectives while sharing past, present and future inventions Jae Shim is an award-winning filmmaker whose work traverses the worlds of art, cinema, and culture. He is the Director of Opus Cope. Melanie Mitchell is the James B. Alley Jr. Professor at the Santa Fe Institute, a computer scientist focused on conceptual abstraction, analogy-making, and visual recognition in artificial intelligence systems. Marco Buongiorno Nardelli is a composer, computational physicist and media artist at the University of North Texas, a member the Initiative for Advanced Research in Technology and the Arts (iARTA) and the Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia (CEMI), and SFI external faculty.
