SADDLE: A Live Fundraiser for Cole Forrest’s Upcoming Film

@ Join us at CCA September 26th @ 6:30pm for a special fundraiser evening for Cole Forrest’s upcoming film “Saddle”. Tickets are $22 and a portion of every ticket goes towards production costs for Saddle including paying for Celluloid 16mm film, technician fees, and actor fees. Donations will also be accepted throughout the evening! Let’s celebrate Indigenous Cinema together! The evening includes a special Cole Forrest curated Indigenous short film program, a live reading of the “Saddle” script, and a reception with refreshments. Below you can find more information about the film, and Cole Forrest as a filmmaker! Saddle is a 16mm queer Indigenous mumblecore horror film. Saddle follows Liv and Jay, who reunite after 15 years apart. Over an evening together, they learn how drastically life has changed since high school on the rez. Cole Forrest is an Anishinaabe filmmaker from Nipissing First Nation. Cole has written and directed films for a decade. Cole’s films have been screened at film festivals including imagineNATIVE, TIFF Next Wave, and the Vancouver International Film Festival. Cole is a Sundance alumni through the Native Film Lab. Cole is a recipient of the 2025 King Charles Coronation Medal for their work in the arts. Cole is the Film Production instructor at New Mexico School for The Arts, and Cole is a professor at the Institute of American Indian Arts where they teach Cinema Studies. They are grateful to represent their community in all artistic pursuits.
