Called the “Van Cliburn of today” by the BBC, pianist Alexander Kobrin has placed himself at the forefront of today’s performing musicians. His prize-winning performances have been praised for their brilliant technique, musicality, and emotional engagement with the audience. Mr. Kobrin has taken the top prize in many international competitions, most notably the esteemed Gold Medal at the Twelfth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Though widely acclaimed as a performer, he is also a respected and inspirational teacher, currently a professor at the renowned Eastman School of Music. Mr. Kobrin is the Heintzelman Family Artistic Advisor for the Chautauqua Piano Program.
