Guided Tour: Lighthouses of the Chesapeake

Public guided tours are offered most weekends and holiday Mondays. All tours require admission with a suggested ticket price of $10 per person and begin at CBMM’s Welcome Center. Advanced reservations are recommended. Purchase a combo ticket for general admission and this tour here by selecting July 27 as the date. Public tours and general admission are free for CBMM members, and members can make reservations here. In this Lighthouses of the Chesapeake Guided Tour, tour the historic 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse and explore the adventurous, exciting, and sometimes dangerous life of a lighthouse keeper. Up and down the Bay, these keepers had risky jobs with an important responsibility: to keep the Chesapeake’s shoals and channels safely marked for shipping and travel.
