About this event
One of 182 upcoming events at Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
Rosie Parks Skipjack Evening Sail Wednesday, Oct. 14 | 5-7pm Step aboard the Rosie Parks, one of the Chesapeake Bay’s last remaining skipjacks, for a two-hour evening sail on the Miles River. Built in 1955 as a working oyster dredge boat, this vessel offers a rare chance to experience the craftsmanship, character, and history of Maryland’s maritime past. Cruise past waterfront homes, working shorelines, and marshes that once supported a thriving oyster industry. Along the way, the crew is happy to share how skipjacks like the Rosie Parks harvested Chesapeake oysters and became the nation’s last commercial sailing fleet. Bring your favorite drink and snack, settle in, and enjoy a true Chesapeake evening on the water. The vessel is capped at six passengers per sail. Don’t wait to buy your tickets! Combo tickets are available for a cruise and CBMM admission. This cruise departs from CBMM’s waterfront. Passengers should check in at least 15 minutes before departure at CBMM’s South Entrance.
