From Chicago Symphony
When Rudolf Buchbinder sits down at the piano, audiences immediately sense his passionate temperament and thirst for musical adventure. He “never takes the easy route … and his readings are unfailingly persuasive,” writes BBC Music Magazine. The eminent Austrian pianist returns to Chicago with music that is especially close to his heart: Beethoven’s emotionally charged Appassionata Sonata, framed by Mozart’s jewel-like variations on the “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” melody and Schubert’s expansive final sonata.
