MaineTransNet is a community based organization led by transgender people for transgender people. They provide peer-to-peer support groups, social and community events, advocacy for the transgender community across Maine, and training for medical, mental health, and social service providers. Oran will talk to us about the struggles of the Trans community and help us learn the best way to understand and engage. For example: how language and concepts have changed over time. Those who wish to attend will have the option of doing so in person, in the Androscoggin Community Room, or register virtually via Zoom. For more information, please visit https://laseniorcollege.org/. To register for Zoom, please visit this site. Everyone who registers virtually will receive a link to Zoom in their email on the morning of the class and may attend either in person or by Zoom if desired. This presentation is part of a speaker series entitled Senior College in the Community offered through a partnership with Lewiston Auburn Senior College. Lewiston Auburn Senior College has a long-standing relationship with community partners. In addition to this program, Senior College offers in-person, Zoom, and hybrid enrichment classes.
