About this event
One of 305 upcoming events at City of Kennesaw.
As the Fall approaches, the Kennesaw City Cemetery comes to life. The ‘Life in the Cemetery’ Tour is an annual guided historical walking tour. This fundraising event is sponsored by the Kennesaw Cemetery Preservation Foundation and is co-sponsored by the City of Kennesaw Cemetery Preservation Commission. This year’s tour will be held the weekend before Halloween, Friday, October 23rd, through Sunday, October 25th. This year’s event celebrates America 250 by looking at our country’s story through the eyes of the cemetery’s residents. Tales from the Civil War, Westward Expansion, the World Wars, the Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement, and more will be explored, showing how these events impacted Kennesaw. This one-hour walking tour, where the last tour each day is after dark, covers a variety of uneven surfaces. These include dirt, grass and grass hills, asphalt and/or gravel roads. Attendees will be required to navigate around headstones and small walls surrounding some family plots. Tickets will go on sale September 1, 2026 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/life-in-the-cemetery-2026-tickets-1993358414678 Please note: This event is not recommended for those with wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, or mobility/balance challenges. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual tour is available at kennesawcemetery.org Pets are not permitted in the cemetery at any time.
