Let's Draw a Leaf: A Botanical Drawing Workshop for Absolute Beginners

Love looking at plants? Learn how to draw one! Get in touch with the joy of drawing as you look more closely at the wide variety of plants growing at Hauck Botanic Garden—even if you've never drawn before. After brief introduction to the history of botanical drawing and a demonstration with colored pencils and ink pens, you'll have plenty of drawing time with individual instruction. The workshop will end with a group discussion about our drawings. No experience needed; this class is perfect for absolute beginners! Supplies will be provided, or you are welcome to bring your own. MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Gratia Banta is passionate about Botanical Drawing and studied with Wendy Hollender at Draw Botanical. However, Gratia respects each student's style choices and can support them thanks to her years of teaching ART 181 at Miami University. COST: $50
