Trio Mandili

Photo courtesy of Roots and Chords Music With more than one billion views worldwide and nearly two million YouTube subscribers, Trio Mandili began as three friends singing together in the Georgian countryside. Now, the group has become one of the world’s most remarkable musical success stories by turning a simple Georgian folk song into a worldwide phenomenon—and the Cleveland Museum of Art is thrilled to present the trio as part of its first US tour. The trio’s signature sound is Georgian polyphony—the layered, close-harmony singing that UNESCO honors as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity—carried by the panduri, a traditional three-string lute. The three members sing not only in Georgian but in Hindi, Polish, and Hebrew, charming listeners far beyond the Caucasus. With a fan community spanning every continent, Trio Mandili has introduced millions to the beauty of Georgian polyphonic singing. The group’s videos have touched hearts across cultures and languages, proving that extraordinary music needs no translation. The views expressed by performers during this event are their own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Cleveland Museum of Art. For this performance, guests have the option to purchase a traditional ticket or a meet-and-greet ticket. The traditional ticket is for an assigned seat in the hall. Each meet-and-greet ticket includes an assigned seat in the center front two rows on the lower level and provides the purchaser with an opportunity to join the band on stage for photos and autographs following the concert.
