His influences are many and diverse. He grew up listening to rock & roll and Motown. He also likes folk music, traditional country, bluegrass and reggae. Over the years, Rick has played with many local bands. Whether it’s electric or acoustic, folk, country or rock & roll. What began as a homecoming quickly became a musical rebirth, with songs pouring out that capture the grit, mood, and heart of the city itself. Drawing on her roots in raw, emotional folk-rock, Corissa channels both tenderness and ferocity, weaving stories that cut deep and linger. Her forthcoming album, born from this wave of inspiration, is brought to life with the support of a powerhouse band: Lex Moda (Cellophane Jane), Lovest Watson III (Femi Kuti, Brain Bacon), and Skyler Keffer (Orefice Roth). Together, they create a sound that is moody, dynamic, and unflinchingly heartfelt — a blend reminiscent of early ’90s female indie performers but distinctly her own.
