@ Tim & Lori McMahon: Recent Paintings April 7 – May 30, 2026 Clifton Forge School of the Arts 518 Church Street, Clifton Forge, VA The Clifton Forge School of the Arts is pleased to present “Tim & Lori McMahon: Recent Paintings,” a new exhibit celebrating the beauty and expressive power of the natural world. Inspired by their experiences in nature and their recent move to the scenic Rockbridge Baths area, both artists explore the landscape through color, movement, and personal interpretation. Lori McMahon approaches nature as a rich sensory experience—an ever-changing interplay of atmosphere, patterns, and color that she translates into expressive shapes, forms, and layered mark-making. Her work blends observation, memory, and intuition, allowing each painting to evolve into something uniquely its own. Tim McMahon, an artist with over fifty years of experience working in painting, drawing, and ceramics, captures the majesty and energy of the natural environment. Influenced by the brushwork of Cézanne and the color traditions of Impressionism, his landscapes balance careful observation with expressive gesture, reflecting his deep appreciation for the wild beauty of mountains, water, and open landscapes. Together, their work offers two complementary perspectives on the same inspiration—the profound and ever-changing experience of nature. Stop by CFSOTA to experience this beautiful collection of paintings and celebrate two artists who have dedicated their lives to exploring and sharing the visual language of the natural world.
