Onondaga Lake Cleanup

Join the American Indian Law Alliance on Sunday, September 13 at 10 AM at Onondaga Lake Park for the Onondaga Lake Community Cleanup, held alongside the 11th Annual Haudenosaunee Wooden Stick Festival. Onondaga Lake is the birthplace of the Great Law of Peace and the shore where Deyhontsigwa’ehs — the Creator’s Game — was first played over a thousand years ago. Following the Thanksgiving Address and its call to protect Mother Earth, we gather to tend these shores together, honoring the return of the eagle to the lake after more than 200 years and supporting the ongoing work of restoring its waters. The cleanup is free, open to the whole family, and welcomes adults and kids of all ages — bags and gloves will be provided, so just bring yourself, sturdy shoes, and a good heart. Come for the cleanup, then stay for the festival: lacrosse, Smoke Dance, traditional foods, and craft vendors run all day.
