R I C E L A N D & beyond Painting & Collage by Ema Lahey Join the Colusa County Arts Council for the opening reception of R I C E L A N D & beyond, a new exhibition of paintings and collage works by Northern California artist Ema Lahey. Inspired by approximately 700 photographs taken during five visits to the Sacramento Valley, Lahey’s work celebrates the rice fields, grain silos, rice dryers, irrigation canals, and expansive skies of Glenn and Colusa counties. After four decades away, she returns to the landscape of her childhood with a fresh eye, revealing the beauty, scale, and quiet poetry of the rural landscape we pass by every day.
