Learn the traditional process of transforming acorns into a nutritious and usable food source, a practice historically used by Indigenous peoples and early settlers. This class will guide participants through the steps of gathering, shelling, grinding, and leaching acorns to remove tannins. Attendees will gain an understanding of the cultural and historical importance of acorn processing, as well as the skills needed to safely prepare acorn flour for cooking. This class offers both educational insight and practical knowledge of sustainable food practices. Limit 15 people. The cost is $30 per class, plus a $10 materials fee.
