Hartford joins cities worldwide on the longest day of the year to celebrate the annual Make Music Day Hartford. Bring a picnic and your dancing shoes to the garden of the Butler-McCook House and join the party in Hartford’s best kept secret—our historic garden oasis–with the String of Pearls Big Band. The sounds of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s will fill our garden as the band keeps the music of Big Band Swing and The Great American Songbook alive and well in the 21st century. This internationally recognized day of music began over 40 years ago and is now celebrated in 120 countries with thousands of free concerts.
