Add to calendar Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live About Join artists Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin, for a discussion related to Mary Ellen Carroll: How To Talk Dirty and Influence People.Through the lens of their own socially engaged practice, Vaughan and Margolin will speak about ‘heat-seeking’ as artistic practice in Carroll’s work and the integration of process (correspondence, preparation, research, methodology) into a “finished” work. . . as much as a work is ever “finished” . . .Light lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis after the gallery talk in the Cullen Education Resource Room on the lower level of the Museum. About Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin are Houston-based collaborative interdisciplinary artists (and husbands). Their work involves extensive original archival research and deep collaborations with local LGBTQIA+ communities. They have have had solo exhibitions at McClain Gallery (Houston), The Blaffer Art Museum (Houston) DiverseWorks (Houston), the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art, the Invisible Dog Art Center (NYC), Art League Houston, Aurora Picture Show (Houston), Devin Borden Gallery (Houston) and non-traditional community-facing venues including Pride Festivals in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Houston, Houston Community College Campuses, Houston Public Library, University of Houston MD Anderson Library, and numerous LGBTQ+ bars. In 2025 they co-founded Rendezvous Center for Art, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering public understanding of the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community by supporting the creation, public presentation and social engagement programming of interdisciplinary artwork that examines the rich diversity of queer experiences. About Art at Noon Art at Noon is a short gallery talk by a local curator, artist, musician, or other creative who is invited to CAMH to share a new perspective on a specific exhibition.
