Expand your basketry skills and create an incredibly useful—and beautiful—market basket in this advanced beginner workshop series! Basketry: Market Basket Series with Traycee Bosle 4-part series Date: Saturday Afternoons, June 6, 13, 20, 27 Time: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM Description: A next step in basketry workshops for students who have already completed at least one basket weaving class, or have some basic basketweaving experience, and would like to build their skills in classic flat-reed basketry. This comprehensive workshop will focus on learning how to: – design your own variation of an extra large handled market basket – determine the materials you will need – measure and cut the materials – dye your materials – weave a solid base in your basket – create a chain or zipper pattern and angled sides using traditional weaving techniques At the end of this four-week class, you will not only walk away with an incredibly useful and beautiful market basket you can use every day, but the skills to design and weave traditional flat reed basketry on your own. Tuition: $210 + $35 materials fee Note: Full and partial tuition scholarships are available to offset some of the financial burden of attending a class. Please fill out the application here! Location: Contemporary Craft, Timmons Studios (5688 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201). Note, this workshop will take place in the Paper Studio, which is on the first floor of the building. There are 2 entrances to the Timmons Studios. • One entrance is facing Butler Street. To access the Paper Studio from the Butler Street facing entrance, there are a total of 8 stairs to ascend. • One entrance is facing 57th Street. This entrance is accessible by ramp, with no stairs to ascend. The Paper Studio is located down the hall from this entrance. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded by check, to your credit card, or Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
