Learn advanced joining and fabrication techniques to create complex forms out of metal! 6-Week Workshop Series Date: Thursdays, March 26 – April 30, 2026 Time: 6pm-9pm Description: Go beyond the basics of cut, bend, file, and solder during these weekly get togethers. Build confidence in your metalworking skills by making and using simple hand tools. This class will focus on working with mixed metals and exploring forming, surface enhancement, and advanced joining methods! Tuition: $270 + $45 materials fee Materials: All materials will be provided We really want you to join us in the studio! Full and partial tuition scholarships are available to offset some of the financial burden of attending a class. Location: Contemporary Craft – Raphael Building (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. ANY WORKSHOP OR INDIVIDUAL SESSION CANCELLATIONS WILL BE COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks. About the Artist Glen Gardner is a Pittsburgh based metalsmith working in all metals. Gardner produces functional and ornamental works including jewelry, tools, holloware and sculpture. He has taught at Penland School (NC), Peters Valley (NJ) TouchCenter for Craft (PA). Gardner has exhibited widely in The U.S. and his work is included in several public and private collections. Currently operating as GSG Studio his work is now focused on hammer raised vessel forms. Gardner’s work relies on the use of simple hand tools to produce objects rich in texture and color.
