Celebrate the NFL Draft coming to Pittsburgh! Make a silver metal clay whistle that’s small in size but big in sound! All-Day Workshop Date: Saturday, April 25th, 2026 Time: 10am-5pm Description: Make a silver metal clay whistle that’s small in size but big in sound! Gain the basics of how a whistle works while making a hollow form that sings a loud note. Students may choose to include a homemade “pea” that will make the sound even more strident. This project’s an attention-getter in more ways than one! Students can expect to complete one mini silver whistle. A kiln firing will be offered in class for students who work quickly. Otherwise, pieces will be left for the instructor to fire after the workshop. Students can pick them up or pay a $10 shipping fee if you need your finished piece sent back to you. Tuition: $105 + $55 materials fee Materials: All materials will be provided We really want you to join us in the studio! Full and partial tuition scholarships are available to offset some of the financial burden of attending a class. About the Artist Donna Penoyer is a master metal clay instructor who has been working in the medium since 2005. She has taught workshops throughout the U.S., England, and Belgium and has created a number of video tutorials available through craftcast.com. Although she developed a spirited, over-the-top, 21-year career as a professional stiltwalker, these days Donna is pretty down-to-earth. She is a welcoming teacher who believes there is a gleeful maker in everyone.
