About this event
One of 7 upcoming events at Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, and 935 across North Jersey.
Sundays in September 8 AM – 9:30 AM Join longtime birders for a guided walk through the Arboretum on a Sunday in September. With binoculars in hand, practice identifying birds by sight and sound with help from Arboretum staff members. This event recommended for people 12 and older, but all interested individuals are welcome. Walks are scheduled to last approximately 1.5 hours and will take place on a mixture of flat and moderately hilly terrain. Bring your own binoculars if you have them; we have a small collection to borrow from if you need. These walks are specifically scheduled during the end of fall migration so we have the best chance to see a wide variety of birds. However, we will be in search of wild birds, so specific species sighting or number of species is never guaranteed. It is always an adventure and we are excited to get our there and find what we can. Pre-registration is required. If you register and later determine that you cannot attend, please contact us so we can open the spot for another individual. While this event is free to attend, donations are appreciated. You have the option to include a donation at the time of registration using a credit card, but this is not a required fee. Donations may also be made in person on the day of your guided walk. Please dress for the weather including layers and sturdy walking shoes. Register Here Preregistration is required for participation in this activity. In the case of inclement weather, registered individuals will be contacted about a cancellation or possible make-up date.
