Nature Preserve Tours

A naturalist-led hike through Deering Estate’s protected habitats introduces visitors to South Florida’s native plants, wildlife and archaeological history. Offered daily from October 1 through May 31, the Nature Preserve Tour explores areas of the estate that include the Cutler Burial Mound, with guides providing context on the surrounding ecosystems and the species found along the route. The tour is included with general admission, but participants must sign up at the Main Gate before departure. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests may also document plant and wildlife sightings through the Deering Estate project on iNaturalist. Tours are subject to route changes and blackout dates. Deering Estate is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
