Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club

Come to our Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club! Led by Crazy Wisdom Bookstore staff, Noelle Barby. Join us as we explore new worlds, confront speculative ideas, and dive into the most imaginative corners of literature. If you love tales of future technologies, far-off galaxies, magic, mythical creatures, and dystopian societies, this is the club for you. We aim to read a mix of works across both the science fiction and fantasy genres or wherever the group takes us! First Book: Parable of the Sower Our first read is Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler. This powerful novel is set in a dystopian near-future California, ravaged by climate change, economic inequality, and social unrest. It follows a young woman named Lauren Olamina who must survive and find a path toward a new, hopeful future. Discussion Details Our first meeting to discuss Parable of the Sower will be held on Sunday April 12th, 2026 from 11:30-12:30pm. We will be meeting upstairs at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore.
