HomeSchool Introduction to Drawing!

This Intro to Drawing class will bring students from “seeing” things to learning to “look.” Drawing does not depend on “talent” but on skill. Students will learn the skills to construct what they see, then use the techniques of shading and texture to create a finished drawing. With practice, students will be able to draw on their own and build their skills until they can capture the essence of their subject. We will be drawing animals from sketch to finished drawing. This class meets on Tuesdays: Nov. 03, 10, 17, 24 Dec. 1, & 8 from 11:00 – 12:00. If this day or time doesn’t work for you, please email us to discuss creating another drawing class or another class specific to your family’s interests. This class is for grades 1 – 6 or age equivalent. Older students are welcome if they are at the intro level. We are an EFA Vendor. As always, if the deadline has passed, email us for class space availability. Class cost is $132.00 for 6 weeks. There is a $15.00 materials fee. *Students will receive a set of drawing pencils to take home and keep for their continued drawing pleasure. Parents sometimes worry that drawing won’t hold their child’s interest for 6 weeks. I have never found this to be a problem; often, they wish they had more time! What can parents do while students are in class? Feel free, in good weather, to picnic in our yard. Market Basket is only a 5-minute drive. The Brickyard Mall has restaurants, Michaels, Marshalls, Old Navy, Pet Smart, and others. Starbucks is 3 minutes from the Art Center, as is Walmart and Lowes. The Library is 2 minutes away on Main Street!
