On view October 20 – November 8 The Garage Gallery at the Creative Well Arts Foundation Journeyman traces a seventeen-year journey of painting – from the exploration of self and humanity to the intimate celebration of fatherhood. The exhibition reflects both emotional depth and technical evolution, offering insight into the artist’s ongoing process of self-discovery. Balancing strength and vulnerability, Journeyman invites viewers into a body of work shaped by lived experience, where personal history and artistic practice become inseparable. Without formal training, these early influences became his primary teachers and technical guides. Over the years, Ka-Son has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, earning multiple awards, including most recently being named a winner of the 2025 Diversity Gallery juried exhibition presented by Norfolk Botanical Gardens. His professional experience spans a wide range of creative roles, including serving as co-curator of the 1199SEIU Gallery in New York City, appearing as a guest on the television program SteelStacks Live!, working as a courtroom sketch artist for The Pocono Record, and serving as director of ARTSPACE Gallery in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He is also a published poet. Ka-Son’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums and featured in both print and online publications. His imagery has been used as cover art for magazines, music releases, and books. He is currently developing a series of paintings centered on fatherhood – what he describes as a love letter to his children.
