« All Events Earth Day Extravaganza at the Cultural Arts Center March 25 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm Join the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center for an Earth Day Extravaganza, a community-wide outdoor celebration dedicated to honoring our planet through creativity, science, and play. From 3:30 to 6:30 PM, Cultural Art Center staff members will host a hands-on, family-friendly afternoon filled with STEAM exploration, environmental education, and classic field-day fun. Throughout the event, patrons of all ages will be invited to celebrate the Earth and learn how our everyday actions impact the ecosystems around us. One of the highlights of the day will be our tree giveaway, offered in hopes of supporting local ecosystems and encouraging environmental stewardship beyond the event. Available trees include Tulip Trees and Common Chokecherry, both beneficial native species that support pollinators and wildlife. Participants will also have the opportunity to dive into STEAM learning through an engaging, hands-on water cycle craft, where guests can explore evaporation, condensation, and precipitation in a visual and interactive way. In addition, patrons can experiment with bubbles in unique and unexpected ways, sparking curiosity about surface tension, air, and movement while having plenty of messy, joyful fun. To keep the energy high, the Cultural Arts Center grounds will transform into a mini field day, featuring a variety of yard games such as cornhole, yard Jenga, dominoes, and more. These games encourage movement, teamwork, and relaxed social connection, making the event enjoyable for families, teens, and adults alike. This Earth Day celebration blends art, science, environmental awareness, and play, creating an inclusive space where learning feels exciting and accessible. Whether you’re planting a tree, experimenting with STEAM activities, or simply enjoying time outdoors with your community, the Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center invites you to come celebrate the Earth with us. Let’s learn, play, and grow together!
