DC Empty: Pegasus Ballet “Overgrowth”

NOVEMBER 6–7, 2026 | DALLAS CONTEMPORARY Choreographer Elliott Ludovic with composer Sam Brukhman create Overgrowth, a new site-specific performance bringing contemporary dance, electronic music, and visual art into dialogue at the Dallas Contemporary. Inspired by internationally acclaimed artist Iván Argote’s solo exhibition, How to Move a Monument on a Tuesday Morning, the work responds to ideas of history, memory, monuments, and transformation. As the performance moves between the exhibition and an intimate performance setting, audiences experience choreography, live music, and visual art coalesce in real time. Brukhman, best known as the founder and Artistic Director of Verdigris Ensemble, steps into a different creative role under the name BRKHMN with an original electronic score performed live, with sections that adapt to the dancers’ performance on the spot. Bold, intimate, and thrillingly collaborative, Overgrowth brings audiences into the kind of boundary-crossing performance that defines Pegasus Contemporary Ballet. Overgrowth performances are intimate and limited in capacity. We are offering four showtimes: FRIDAY, NOV. 6 AT 8:00 PM – OPENING NIGHT SATURDAY, NOV. 7 AT 2:00 PM – MATINEE SATURDAY, NOV. 7 AT 7:00 PM – EVENING PERFORMANCE SATURDAY, NOV. 7 AT 9:00 PM – LATE NIGHT PERFORMANCE Special thank you to the Dallas Contemporary for their sponsorship of this production.
