SBWS A Hymn to Childhood

December 19, 2026 6:00 PM Childhood leaves us with melodies we remember long after the words have faded: a familiar neighborhood, imaginary friends, magical toys, the wonder of a winter evening. Under the direction of Caleb Hathaway, SaddleBrooke Winds & Strings presents A Hymn to Childhood, a musical journey through imagination, belonging, and the tender ache of growing older. Featuring selections from The Nutcracker, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, alongside Percy Grainger’s Children’s March, Victor Herbert’s March of the Toys, and Pavel Tchesnokov’s Salvation Is Created, the program moves between playful adventure and quiet reflection. Seasonal favorites meet music of warmth and longing, inviting us to consider what we carry from childhood—and what we still reach for. Join us for an evening that welcomes the child in every listener, with all their dreams, questions, and capacity for wonder. Looking for Dinner before a show? We Have options! Learn More
