Impact Play, Melanated Skin: Pleasure, Power, and Safety in BIPOC Communities

We're excited to have Goddess Hiromi visiting all the way from Atlanta to present Impact Play, Melanated Skin: Pleasure, Power, and Safety in BIPOC Communities. Class Description Impact play is about more than the physical act. It involves power, trust, vulnerability, pleasure, communication, and safety- and our experiences can be shaped by race, culture, skin tone, and lived experience. In this class, we’ll explore impact play through a BIPOC-centered, trauma-informed lens, incorporating Coach Felyne’s TICK framework to strengthen how we approach negotiation, consent, risk, and communication. We’ll discuss how melanated skin may present visible signs of impact differently, why we shouldn’t make assumptions about BIPOC bodies or pain tolerance, and how Tops and bottoms can better advocate for themselves before, during, and after a scene. We’ll also examine power dynamics, cultural awareness, self-advocacy, and what it means to recognize when something needs to pause, change, or stop. This isn’t about telling you how a BIPOC body should respond. It’s about giving you the tools to ask better questions, communicate more intentionally, recognize risk, and create safer, more consensual impact-play experiences. This is a FREE non-play educational event. No Membership Required (donations to Deviance Tampa Bay are appreciated)
