Nasty Snacks

Dorian’s Presents Nasty Snacks Live at 9PM & 10:30PM Happy Hours 6-8pm Nightly No reservations ~ 6pm – 2am 21+ $10 Cover after 8PM Formed in 2014, Nasty Snacks is a 9-10 piece “funkestra” consisting of members of the vibrant Chicago music scene. Described by some as “future funk” the genre-bending band blends elements of funk, R&B, and fusion. Having played at many of the best Chicago venues and supported various nationally touring acts, the Snacks have proven to showcase a pocket-slamming performance every show. Their energetic, horn-driven melodies, and powerful lead vocals give the Snacks their nasty edge. With two guitarists who switch between lead/rhythm, keyboard sounds that fill classic and cosmic space, and super tight rhythm section, the sonic landscape is endless. In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, the band welcomed a new lead vocalist, Stefanie Mitchell (The Right Now), and began writing new material remotely. Throughout this time, the band has come together to push for social change by donating album sales to charitable organizations, to stay safe by getting vaccinated, and to keep playing shows while continuing to write new, exciting material. The band’s most recent release (March 2021) the Smoke Signals EP was recorded at Transient Sound Studios in Chicago by Steven Gillis and features Mitchell, their new vocalist, on all three tracks. The band hosted several online events to celebrate the release and the response has been amazing. Smoke Signals EP can be streame and purchased everywhere.
