Magic Carpet Ride: Omaha’s Skyline, Lost Landmarks & Hidden Stories – A Journey Through Time with Thomas Neal Sunday, July 12 | 2:00 PM Metro Community College, Fort Omaha Campus Building 10, Room 110 Step back to downtown Omaha in 1947 through the lens of a remarkable Omaha World-Herald photograph. At this month’s Second Sunday Talk, Douglas County Historical Society Executive Director Tom Neal will explore Omaha’s downtown skyline as it appeared nearly 80 years ago. Using this historic image as a guide, Tom will share the stories behind many of the buildings captured in the photograph, tracing their histories and revealing what became of them over the decades. As the skyline evolved, some structures disappeared, others were transformed, and new landmarks emerged to define the city we know today.
